PRACTICE ‘MISE EN PLACE’
There’s a reason chefs are known as some of the most organised individuals, and it’s because they have a place for everything. Try and use this life hack to organise your own things, have everything in a certain place and even label it up if you need to.
Most of us are guilty of letting things slip on the clean scale, after a long days work the last thing we want is to go home and clean. But by keeping on top of things and cleaning as you go, you can save yourself the bother of big cleans and make yourself feel better living in a fresh and clean space.
GET A MONEY MANAGEMENT APP
Being unorganised can quickly lead you to a state of overspending, sometimes leading to relying on credit to get you through till payday. There are loads of money management apps available, like Quicken or Mint, or Plum which links to your Facebook messenger. Another amazing concept is Monzo – allowing you to transfer money to a Monzo card which sends automatic notifications whenever you spend on it. Check out our blog about Monzo here
HAVE A CLEAROUT
If your house or flat is full of ‘stuff’, it can end up making you feel claustrophobic and stressed. Having a clear out can be massively therapeutic and will give you more space to live and breathe. Anything you have that hasn’t been used for over a year that doesn’t hold any sentimental value – you’ll probably never use. So donate it to charity or throw it away – guaranteed you’ll feel better.
CHECK EXPIRATION DATES
Checking the expiration dates on any food in the fridge may be a normal everyday thing, but we often forget about the canned and jarred foods we keep in the cupboard. These also have expiration dates, so check them and get rid of anything out of date. You’ll probably be surprised at how much cupboard space you are left with!
